How To Pick Your Piercing Studio

Before we start, I recommend you to go to a piercing studio. If you choose to go to a tattoo  shop, be sure they are clean and organized.

Finding the right piercer is like finding the right tattoo artist, so important! While piercings may heal and close, you still have to consider scarring and infections that could cost you your life

It’s important that you do your research to find a clean, professional, and reliable piercing studio.

Not only will they properly inform you on your new piercing, sell you the proper piercing cleaner, and provide you with an after-care booklet but they should make it clear that they will accommodate you even years after getting the piercing.

Here's 3 things you should look for when trusting a piercer:

1. A Good Portfolio / Reliable Reviews

A good piercing studio will ALWAYS have an organized portfolio available to gain your trust.

Whether it's their social media, google reviews, or a physical book of consented pictures, you will see that their clients are more than happy with their new bling.

Most clients show a lot of love towards their favorite piercers, it won't be hard to see they are trusted! The studio will even have that feeling of "you can trust us".

Not only that, but you will be treated like your review will matter, you're not just a random getting a piercing. Any piercing studio treating you like a ghost is untrustworthy.

2. Organization & Sanitization

Organization is one of the most important things to look for in a piercing studio.

Do not go for a piercing studio that seems scrambled or in a rush. Everyone working should be level-minded, kind, and patient.

The air should smell clean and relaxing. The front and back areas including the floor should be FULLY sanitized. If they are clearly disorganized LEAVE.

New needles should be used on any piercing being performed, a variety of jewelry sizes should be available, gloves should always be worn, and a trash can should always be nearby

Food and drinks should not be in sight!

3. Knowledge and Licenses

Every question you have should be answered with no problem. Kindness is very important when trusting a piercer. A piercer should not be rude or impatient with you because you are asking important questions.

A piercing guidebook full of information should always be accessible and nearby! Most piercing studios have their licenses framed on the walls for you to see, if you don't see any licenses ask. If they refuse to show you, LEAVE

A good piercing studio will not pierce minors without consent from a parent!

Licenses you should look for:

A up-to-date body piercing license, according to your state.
